     A medical representative holds an important job in the healthcare industry. The medical world provides thousands of jobs to people such as doctors, surgeons, nurses and pharmaceutical specialists. Medical representatives are a key link between medical and pharmaceutical companies and healthcare professionals, according to Prospects. A medical representative provides information about medicines and drugs available to those who prescribe medicines. 
     
    Job Description
     A medical representative's duties include arranging appointments with medical professionals to educate and spread awareness of medicines the company is supplying. A medical representative also organizes meetings and conferences with other healthcare professionals, and maintains knowledge of new medicines in order to sell them. 
     
    Education and Skills Required 
    A bachelor's degree in science, engineering or pharmacy is required in order to obtain the position of a medical representative. Medical representatives must possess good listening and speaking abilities, effective communication, persistence, confidence and motivation. A medical representative should also have a professional image and manner.
